Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual world, can be used in many ways, how many? as you can imagine... Virtual worlds can be created to replicate existing physical space and you can also create worlds that are non existing.

In the real physical aspect you can find class rooms, sport fields, famous venues, tourist attractions, world wonders and more... Where you can also use your imagination and create worlds that are non existing in the physical world a good example is mentioned in the article by After Second Life, Can Virtual Worlds Get a Reboot? by Diane Mehta, she brings the example of Minecraft a computer game that is describe as virtual Lego world where anything can be created by the users and shared in an infinite world. Virtual worlds have many pros and cons some we haven't even discovered yet... On the pros end Virtual worlds can give access to those who can not travel to certain places in the world, a good use case is education. Another good example is for people who feel lonely in the real world and build support groups around us, and way to avoid being alone. On the other hand we might get "sucked" in to a virtual world and find our selfs not leaving to live our "real life" in the physical world, about two years ago a gamer has died after playing 19 hours in a game called World of Warcraft.
As mentioned before virtual worlds can be anything we can think of... there is no cranes that needs to build buildings, no bureaucracy just our own free imagination and 3D modeling software.
I think virtual worlds will have a place in our everyday life the same way social networks do now... It will take time and it will happen, I really liked the idea presented in Virtual world may impact real world behaviour - "In virtual environments, people can freely choose avatars that allow them to opt into or opt out of a certain entity, group, or situation"

Who will you be?
